NORTH BEND -- Karl Daniel was already having a great day last week Wednesday when he got to North Bend Lanes for the Cash Classic bowling league.

That morning he married his partner of 12 years, Cindy. To make the day more memorable, he then bowled a perfect game.

The 300 was the first of 2012 at North Bend Lanes, and also led to the highest series of the year to date.

In the first game of the night, he had strikes in the first six frames before settling for a 267.

Then he had 12 straight strikes in the second game. It was the second 300 of his career, following one on Nov. 21, 2007.

'The first time, it just blew me away," Daniel said, adding that he was nervous starting in the seventh frame.

'The second one was just as nerve-wracking, but I was more relaxed because I had done it before."

Daniel followed up the 300 game with a 216 in the third game, for a total of 783. That was his lifetime best, but he had been hoping for an 800.

Daniel's night was the second best of the current season. Back in October, Walt Weber had a 300 game as part of an 806 series.

Daniel is a regular at North Bend Lanes. He works the graveyard shift at Walmart, and competes in both the Cash Classic and Varsity leagues, and is a substitute in three others.

He has been bowling at North Bend Lanes for 20 years.

Surely no day has been as memorable as last Wednesday, though. And his new bride was there to share his bowling feat with him, too.

'She bowls in the league with me," he said.
