The annual Driving Fore South Coast Hospice benefit golf tournament is scheduled for Saturday, July 21, at Coos Golf Club.

Registration starts at 8 a.m. on July 21 and the tournament has a 9 a.m. shotgun start.

The tournament is the biggest annual fundraiser for South Coast Hospice. All proceeds from the event will benefit terminally ill patients in South Coast Hospice care.

This is the fourth year of the tournament, which this year includes a silent auction featuring golf packages, hotel stays, gift certificates for outings and much more. Some 30 South Coast businesses have helped sponsor the event.

The cost to participate in the tournament is $90 per golfer or $360 for a four-person team. The entry fee pays for golf and use of a cart, a light breakfast, lunch and prizes.

The tournament will be played in a scramble format. The top three teams will receive prizes and also prizes will be presented for closest to pin and long drive.

South Coast Hospice has been providing quality end-of-life care to terminally ill people and bereavement services for their loved ones on the South Coast for 33 years. The tournament helps ensure the organization can continue to provide compassionate care for patients and their families.

The tournament is one of three benefit tourneys on the South Coast the same day. 

Bandon Crossings will host the the 11th annual Golf For Health Classic, a fundraiser for the Southern Coos Health Foundation.

The event includes a dinner at 5 p.m. on July 20. Check-in for the golf tournament begins at 8 a.m. on July 21.

The entry fee is $125 for a single player or $600 for a team of four.

And Forest Hills Country Club in Reedsport holds its annual fundraiser, the Jack Dunn Memorial Tournament.

The event begins with a shotgun start at 10:30 a.m. and is for teams of up to six players.

The cost is $45 and includes lunch.

Money raised goes to clubhouse and course maintenance at the course.
