Coquille standouts McKenna Wilson and Rhiannon McKinley both were named to the all-state second team for Class 3A in volleyball.

Wilson and McKinley, two seniors who earlier were the first Coquille players to make the Mountain Valley Conference first team in the four-year history of the league, helped Coquille to third place in the state tournament, the best finish in school history. The Red Devils earned a trophy at the state tournament for the fourth straight year.

Breana Edwards of Rainier and Caroline McMahon of state champion Cascade Christian were named co-players of the year. Cascade Christian’s Rob Klecker was coach of the year after the Challengers won their second straight state title.

The rest of the first team included Santiam Christian’s Rebeka Preston, Vale’s Presley Jensen, Cascade Christian’s Allison Winter, Salem Academy’s Sydney Brown and Creswell’s Cassie Cunningham, who was the Mountain Valley Conference player of the year.

The rest of the second team was Vale’s Tessa McFetridge, Cascade Christian’s Aubrey Kievit, Portland Christian’s Simone Gordon, Santiam Christian’s Leah Boyer and Salem Academy’s Paige Boles.

The third team included Blanchet Catholic’s Kalea Salang, Dayton’s Kalina Rojas, Scio’s Daija Smith, Cascade Christian’s Alyssa Vaughn, Santiam Christian’s Madison Wobig, Oregon Episcopal’s Maxine Matheson-Lieber and Creswell’s Bailey Howell.
