Cassie Kennon of Bandon came up just short in her bid to win the Pee Wee Girls division at the Bob Norquist Oregon Junior Amateur golf tournament on Friday at Astoria Golf and Country Club.

Kennon’s older brothers both won matches in their respective divisions but failed to advance to the finals.
Scotty Kennon was medalist in qualifying for the boys (14-15) division, and won his first two matches before losing 2 and 1 in the semifinals Thursday to Ethan Tseng of Portland. Tseng went on to win the tournament, beating Brody Marconi of Portland 1-up in the final.
In the junior boys (16-18) division, Jackson Kennon qualified for the match play bracket as the No. 9 seed and won his first match before losing to Amav Reddy in a match that extended to 19 holes.
Nate Stember of Portland won the division 1-up over Johnny Ward of Lake Oswego in the championship match.
The South Coast did have one champion. Lucas Vanderlip of Gold Beach won the Pee Wee boys division, beating Drew Woolworth of Lake Oswego 2-up in the final. Vanderlip had been the No. 5 seed, but won all three of his matches, including beating top seed Grady Kane 4 and 2 in the semifinals.
