My wife and I recently returned from an outstanding guided tour of three SE Asian nations; Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam.
The two-week tour was organized and sponsored by the Coos History Museum under the guidance of Executive Director Susan Tissot. Susan, working with an experienced and knowledgeable travel planner, developed a tour that took participants to ancient ruins such as Angkor Wat, part of a UNESCO World Heritage temple complex near Siem Reap, Cambodia, and on to a variety of museums and cultural facilities, art galleries, village markets, and much more in Laos and Vietnam.
While the trip was brief, it provided unique opportunities to enjoy and appreciate the people, cultures and delicious foods of this region of Asia. The Coos History Museum is a valuable cultural asset for the southern Oregon coast and the staff, and volunteers work hard to showcase local history and achievements in interesting and informative presentations. We hope the museum offers future opportunities to enjoy and understand cultures in other parts of the world.
