Funeral services will be held for Beverly Rae Jorgensen-Lanier, of Bandon, for friends and family at 10 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 24, at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Bandon. This will be followed by a celebration of life, for both Beverly and Richard Lanier at 1 p.m., at the Post, 3440 VFW Hall, 55382 Bates Road in Bandon. She passed away Dec. 11, 2017 in St. Louis, Mo. at the age of 65.
She was born July 5, 1952 in Omaha, Neb., the daughter of William R. Jorgensen and Deane L. Denham.
Beverly was the widow of Richard John Lanier, they were together for more than 33 years. She grew up in Missouri and went to school in Osceola. Later she moved to California having two children and in 1972 moved to Oregon. She worked as an administrative assistant and clerk for most of her career with 31 of those years working for the city of Bandon.
She was a past member and supporter of the Bandon Cranberry Festival Association, VFW Ladies Auxiliaries and local Moose Lodge. She loved singing karaoke and enjoyed her small businesses of candle making and Tupperware sales to stay busy and meet friends. She will be remembered for her strong will, big heart and unconditional love for her friends and family.
She is survived in death by her sons, Don Jorgensen and Dan Jorgensen; daughter, Christina Lanier; brother, Benjamin Polvos; grandchildren, Holly Jorgensen, Peyton Jorgensen, Michael Jorgensen, Austin Dozier, Tyler Jorgensen, and Dakota Dozier; and great-grandchild Mikaya Jorgensen.
Beverly was preceded in death by her mother, Deane; and husband, Richard J. Lanier.
