NORTH BEND — The city will consider entering a support agreement with Jordan Cove Energy Partners at its council meeting Tuesday night.

The agreement states Jordan Cove will fund the city’s emergency response preparations for the proposed liquefied natural gas export facility. Jordan Cove would also provide necessary LNG safety training.

When the proposed facility is built, North Bend would provide fire protection services for Jordan Cove facilities in the North Bay area, which could impact public safety in the city, and automatic aid fire services on other Jordan Cove properties, according to the agreement. The police department would enter a mutual aid agreement for situations arising in the North Bay area, which could impact public safety in the city.

North Bend would further develop an LNG response plan for potential incidents that would impact the city.

The council will review the agreement at 7:30 p.m. in the city council chambers at 835 California Street as part of its regularly scheduled meeting.
