Douglas County law enforcement agencies are searching for a 39-year-old Myrtle Creek man wanted in connection with a Wednesday shooting in Canyonville.
According to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, David Baumgaertel is wanted for attempted murder, and should be considered armed and dangerous.
Baumgaertel is white, approximately 5-foot-11 and weighing 205 pounds. He has a balding or shaved head and large tattooos on his neck and forehead, with a teardrop tattoo next to his right eye.
He was last seen driving a red 2001 Honda Civic, with the Oregon license plate 533FAE and a black-colored hood with a skull painted on it.
Deputies say the shooting was reported just before 5 p.m. in the 400 block of Mont Street. Law enforcement officers found a 23-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his face. The man was taken to Mercy Hospital for treatment.
