Alicia Pinedo, Steve Pinedo, Liz Payne, and Star Owens represent Coos County's local SEVPRO team that won to franchise oppertunity for the 15th year in a row from Entrepreneur Magazine in 2018.

For the 15th consecutive year the SERVPRO franchise, which operates in Coos Bay was named Top Franchise Opportunity in the Restoration Services and 12th ranking overall in Entrepreneur magazine’s 2018 Franchise 500 rankings.

Entrepreneur magazine 2018 list of the top 500 franchise saw more than 1,020 qualified applicants for its list.

Our local franchise covers Coos, Curry, and Del Norte counties and is owned by local entrepreneur Steve Pinedo.

“A lot of what people don’t understand is that we are a local small business. We do business just like everybody else,” Pinedo said.

SERVPRO is a franchise that restores and cleans up buildings that have been subject to damage from things like water, fire, mold, and storms. Most of SERVPRO’s clients are dealing with disaster.

“We are proud to be a part of this ‘Best in Category’ organization,” said Pinedo. “SERVPRO’s financial strength and stability, growth rate, and system size all contribute to the company’s success, and by extension to the success of its franchisees. The commitment to excellence starts at the top and carries through to the service each franchisee provides to each and every customer.”

Entrepreneur magazine’s Franchise 500 list measures a franchise operation evaluating its costs and fees, size and growth, support, brand strength, and financial strength and stability.

Pinedo said the business has been successful building relationships with the community by getting involved with as many local jobs and activities as it can.

“We’ll take part in the National Night Out if we’re invited. So then we can come out on a local level and just kind of help out on a local level. Fire departments have had certain events and we’ve been privileged enough to get invited to those, like their emergency preparedness week,” Pinedo said.

Chief executive officer of SERVPRO Sue Steen said, “Our franchisees respond to property damage emergencies ranging from small individual disasters to multi-million dollar large-loss events. Maintaining our position for 15 consecutive years as the best franchise opportunity in our category on the Entrepreneur Franchise 500 list validates our long-standing strategy for growing our brand: invest in franchisee training and support, and commit resources to continually improving our infrastructure.”

SEVPRO focuses on restoring its customers’ homes or buildings to the state they were in before damage was done. They offer 24 hour service, seven days a week, even on holidays. One interesting thing SEVPRO does is they will gather -- and if they can restore the furniture that was in a damaged room -- and hold it in their warehouse until the restoration job is complete.
