Marine debris litters coastal beaches, SOLVE organizes community cleanup days several times a year to help prevent an accumulation of debris.

Thousands of volunteers will come together for a day at the beach when SOLVE volunteers clear the coast of litter and marine debris at 45 locations stretching from Astoria in the north, all the way to Brookings in the south.

SOLVE projects also are a great way to explore the outdoors, meet your neighbors and make a difference.

SOLVE’s Spring Oregon Beach Cleanup, presented by AAA Oregon, will be 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, March 24. Each location offers a great opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and explore your part of the Oregon coast, all while making a positive difference for marine animals, coastal communities and the health of our entire ocean.

For Oregon's largest Earth Day event, SOLVE IT for Earth Day, presented by Portland General Electric will be 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, April 21.

In September, volunteers will come together to care for Oregon at over 100 hands-on projects, and we want you to be there at the local SOLVE’s Beach & Riverside Cleanup, presented by the Oregon Lottery.

These annual cleanups have been a family-friendly tradition for over thirty years. Projects will focus on cleaning up and restoring natural areas and neighborhoods with hands-on work. Supplies and instructions will be provided and all ages and abilities.

Across the state, Oregon’s coast and natural areas continue to face threats from diminishing wildlife habitat, invasive plants, and litter, which flows downstream to rivers and out to the ocean. By volunteering, you’re stopping litter from making its journey through our state and out to the coast, ensuring clean and healthy water ways for all.

Supplies and instructions are provided at each check-in location and all ages and abilities are encouraged to join in.
