CHARLESTON — Parents and children are encouraged to participate in the South Slough National Estuarine Research Reserve's summer Farmer’s Market passport series.

Two Wednesdays in July the South Slough will present a themed education program at the Downtown Coos Bay Farmer’s Market from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Kids will receive a punch on their passport and at the end of summer they can bring their passport to the Interpretive Center for their own South Slough patch.

This month on Wednesday, July 8, the featured program will be “Plants, Trees & Fire!”

On Wednesday, July 22, the program will be "Eelgrass Home."
