Oregon Coast Culinary Institute student chefs take a breather after preparing hors d’oeurves for a community event at the college.

COOS BAY — Southwestern Oregon Community College Foundation and the Oregon Coast Culinary Institute will host Uncorking Opportunity! on Friday, Jan. 19. The event is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Oregon Coast Culinary Institute, 1988 Newmark Ave., Coos Bay.

Uncorking Opportunity! is the college’s fourth-annual scholarship fundraiser, featuring an evening of conversation, excellent hors d’oeurves by OCCI chefs paired with fine wines from Oregon vineyards. Six wines will be featured, including those from Tyee Winery of Corvallis, Abacela of Roseburg and Pike Road Wines of Carlton, among others.

Tickets are $75 per person. Thanks to sponsor support, 100 percent of ticket proceeds will go to scholarships at OCCI and Southwestern’s Coos and Curry campuses.
