Richard and Alice (Miller) Evans were married June 18, 1954, in Myrtle Point. To celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary, their children, Darrell Evans, Virginia Evans Harris and Rick Evans, will be hosting a celebration at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 21, at the Myrtle Point Grange on Sitkum Lane. Cake and punch will be served, along with memories from the past 60 years.
For 60 years they have been devoted to each other. Their devotion and commitment to each other has never been more clear than it is now as they care for each other in their golden years. Together they have braved everything life has given them. We should all be so lucky to have such devoted partners.
Thomas and Constance were an unlikely couple. They met on a 25 cent bet that Thomas would not ask Constance out on a date; he did, and she accepted. Shortly after their marriage ceremony, the couple moved to California to work and attend college. They moved to Coos Bay in 1997.
Thomas and Constance are members of the Elks. Constance enjoys reading, playing games and gardening. Tom enjoys fishing, hiking, reading and drinking beer.
