I was trying to remember all the not-so-subtle clues as to what I might expect during our Community Emergency Response Team class final disaster drill.

Instructors Mike Wright and Kim Singh shared several scenarios from past drills and it sounded like some of the actors portraying victims will be very convincing. The mock situational stress will hamper my normally cloudy thinking. Triage basics — green, yellow, red and black. Breathing, bleeding or going into shock. Conducting exercises with a partner at all times. Incident Command System methodology. Just the facts ma'am. Noting useful items while performing searches — like things that could be useful for splints, transport, warmth ...
