BANDON — The Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center will host a show of artworks created depicting any subject matter using the drawing mediums of graphite, charcoal, pen and ink, brush and ink, or other drawing mediums and implements.
This is a winter show, running January through March, a time of wonder and enchantment, cold noses and warm fires.
Artists may enter 1-3 pieces in all artistic styles: representational, abstract, or futuristic. All works must be able to be hung on the wall. Show curators are looking for work going back to drawing/mark making roots, primarily in black, white, and gray. Some mixed media but primarily the drawn images are what curators are encouraging for the focus of this show.
The hospital walls are a place for art that helps de-stress patients and their families, staff and visitors. Nudity, violence, morbidity, or political soapbox material will not be shared.
Ready to hang art is due by 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, at Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center, 900 11th St. SE, Bandon. There is no entry fee, and artists may submit up to three pieces.
The opening reception will be held 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6, and the show will continue through March, 2019.
There is no commission for sales but the Foundation would happily accept a small percentage. All submitted images are subject to use for promotions.
