Meg McLagen and Darie Somers’ powerful documentary shares, for the first time, the hidden history of female support soldiers known as Lionesses. Lionesses were part of the first women in American history sent into direct ground combat, fighting in some of the bloodiest counterinsurgency battles of the Iraq war, returning home as part of this country’s first generation of female combat veterans. Special guest and original Lioness prototype, Jessica Miller, was the the first female to do missions by herself for the Army and Marines. Miller later partnered with Morgan from this documentary. A discussion will be held after the film.
