BANDON - As a way to help the local community understand and take an active part in their healthcare, the Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center will be starting monthly forums to allow the community to see, touch and better understand the technologies our community hospital has to offer.
The first forum will be held from 6-7 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, at the hospital, 900 11th St. SE. This inaugural forum focuses on the SCHHC Medical Imaging Department. Attendees will learn about the new 64-slice Computed Tomography (CT or CAT scan) Scanner. The department's credentialed staff will educate the public on this technology which benefits Bandon residents and Coos County. There will be a short presentation by an experienced radiologic technologist, snacks and refreshments from the SCHHC dietary department, and tours of the recently updated Medical Imaging Department. Everyone who participates will be presented with educational materials they may use in consultation with their primary care physician.
Admission is free to the public.
