BANDON - Myron Spady, the only living charter member of the Bandon Lions Club, was honored recently by club members during their Wednesday weekly lunch at the Bandon Community Center.
The club named the dining room the Myron Spady Memorial Room in his honor. Spady, 93, attends Lions Club meetings weekly. He was the city attorney for the City of Bandon for many years and a local private attorney. He has lived at Pacific View since the death of his wife Lillie last year. The couple were married for 72 years and had five children who grew up in Bandon.
Mayor Mary Schamehorn attended the event and presented Spady with historic photos she took of Lions Club activities over the years. Spady entertained the club with stories of what The Barn looked like when it was truly a barn.
