Making a splash on Mondays

JUNE 29, 2015 — Swim instructor Helen Dietz works with Luke Cook, 6, of North Bend, on his kick on Monday, June 29, 2015, at the Mingus Park Pool.

COOS BAY — Mingus Park Pool will be open to the public for free swim lessons 7-7:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays through the Aug. 15. Children 6 and younger will require an adult present but this is a great opportunity for folks to learn to swim. This program is supported by donations by the community and the swim instructors who will volunteer their time.

From 7:30-9 p.m. you can swim free at Mingus Park Pool, 600 N. 10th St., Coos Bay.

Public swim is 1:30-4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Adults can swim for $4, children for $3. A family pass for four members costs $175 and a summer youth pass is available for $85.

Swim lessons are available for all ages and all skill levels. The only requirement for wee ones is they must be potty trained.

Contact the pool at 541-267-1360 to see what works for your needs.

For more information, call Kathe McNutt at 541-297-3093.
