BANDON — The Coos Kennel Club will hold its annual AKC all-breed dog show Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, July 12, 13, 14 and 15, outdoors in the grassy area between Bandon High School and Harbor Lights Middle School, 550 Ninth St. SW. The show will run from 9 a.m.-4 or 5 p.m. daily.
The public is welcome to attend. For information on when certain breeds will be showing, visit barayevents.com, find the Coos Kennel Club show under "shows" on the left side of the home page, then scroll to the bottom of the page and click on "show documents," for a pdf file that lists all the details.
The show will feature four all-breed dog shows, with junior showmanship. There will be individual breed competitions as well as group showings (hound, working, herding, terrier, toy, sporting, non-sporting and best in show) each day. The national owner-handled series will be held on Friday and Saturday.
There are approximately 395 dogs entered in the show, featuring 97 breeds.
There is no charge for admission or parking. There will be vendors and food booths, as well as a food booth sponsored by the Bandon High School football team with fresh shrimp cocktails and other items to help raise funds for the upcoming football season.

Each day the competitions start over. On Friday and Saturday, approximately at 2 p.m. during the group showings, there will be free strawberry shortcake (Friday) and free hot-dogs and chips (Saturday) for competitors and the public.
"We have a lot of professional handlers who come to this show," said Linda Waggoner, one of the show's organizers. "Some of these handlers also compete at the famous Westminster Dog Show, which is televised on national TV."
