COOS BAY — Bay Area Sportsman's Association will hold its 30th annual dinner banquet and auction Saturday, March 18, at the Boys & Girls Club of Southwestern Oregon, 3333 Walnut Ave., Coos Bay.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for no-host social hour, a preview of auction items and to play Duck Squat; only 250 squares will be available. The early bird raffle includes cash prizes and script. The general, bonus and super bonus raffles have various amounts of script prize money. Bob Jenkins says most of the auction items will be very similar to what's last year's program.
Dinner tickets are $75, dinner tickets with raffle tickets are $100-$150 and available in advance at Gold Coast Truck Repair, from Dale Fults at Ken Ware Chevrolet, or at the door. Alder Smokehouse will be providing prime-rib for the evening's meal.
This year's featured auction items will include a gold plated limited edition commemorative Tommy Gun, by Thompson Firearm; only 300 of these Tommys were produced. Also featured, a 338 Lupa by Savage.
Background checks, required for every gun purchase, will be provided onsite until 10 p.m. by Bay Area Yamaha.
BASA has provided more than $1,012,602 in grant funding to over 80 local organizations that focus on youth, education, community support, and sports and wildlife. In 2015 alone BASA grants totaled $35,999.
