People still can sign up for Marshfield’s Hall of Fame induction ceremonies, scheduled for Saturday night at The Mill Casino-Hotel.
The event, which includes a silent auction along with a sit-down dinner, costs $35 per person. Tickets can be purchased at the door, though people are encouraged to sign up early so officials can have an accurate head count.
The doors open at 4:30 p.m. for people to start viewing and bidding on the auction items. Dinner will be served at 6:15 p.m., with the induction ceremony starting at 7. The Young Bucs, a local singing group, will perform during the event.
The seventh hall of fame class includes former standout coaches Wayne Van Burger (wrestling) and Judy Parker (dance), hurdles state champion and current track coach Rich “Mac” McIntosh, gymnastics state champion Barb (Hanen) Gerrone and the 1967 state champion tennis team.
About 150 items will be included in the silent auction, with funds raised going to the individual sports programs. People also will have an opportunity to donate money toward the scholarship for athletes who need help paying the $100 per sport participation fee.
