The impacts of wildfires in Southern Oregon have continued to be felt into this weekend with several changes for scheduled events.
Marshfield is hosting a volleyball tournament Saturday after the Jerry Mulvey Invitational at Hidden Valley High School was canceled. The Marshfield tournament, which includes Sutherlin, Douglas and Del Norte, is called the Marshfield Air Quality Tournament.
The tournament starts at noon, with Marshfield facing Douglas and Sutherlin battling Del Norte. By the end of the day, the teams will have played each of the other three schools.
In another change Saturday, two of the teams pulled out of the Eight-Man Classic in North Bend.
Both Days Creek and Powder Valley pulled out of the event, forcing a revised schedule.
The first game at noon still includes North Douglas against Camas Valley. The second game, at 3 p.m., now includes Hosanna Christian and Powers. The Cruisers had been scheduled to play at 6 p.m. against Powder Valley.
The cross country schedule also was impacted, with the Brookings-Harbor Invitational being canceled.
