Marshfield’s wrestling team captured the regional title Saturday at Hidden Valley High School, keyed by five individual champions.

The Pirates advanced 12 total wrestlers to the state tournament, which starts Friday in Portland.

Marshfield finished with 305.5 points. Mazama of Klamath Falls was second at 245. North Bend finished 12th and advanced two wrestlers to state.

The top four finishers in each weight class advance to state.

Marshfield’s champions were Kody Koumentis (113 pounds), AJ Lira (138), Willy Jantzer (145), Garrett Lefebvre (152) and Travis “Junior” Wittlake at 170 pounds. All but Jantzer are defending state champions.

Marshfield’s Frankie Harlow (120 pounds) and Tyler Post (220) lost in the championship bouts. Will Forbes (160), Aiden Adams (182), Alvaro Ruiz (220) and Phillip Hernandez (285) all were third, while Peyton Forbes (132) was fourth.

North Bend’s district champion was Coltyn Ringen at 132 pounds. Grady Hampel finished second at 182 for the Bulldogs. They were North Bend’s only placers.

Siuslaw, which finished seventh, had one champion, 120-pounder Richard Huff. Brady Libby was second at 106 for the Vikings, while Elijah LaCosse was fourth at 120.
