Team Sports

Football, volleyball, basketball, baseball, softball and soccer

Class 5A Midwestern Hybrid (Marshfield, Churchill, Marist, North Eugene, Springfield and Willamette).

Play-in opening round: Midwestern No. 6 at Central Oregon No. 3, winner at Mid-Willamette No. 1; Mid-Willamette No. 8 at Midwestern No. 5, winner at Southern Oregon No. 1.

Second round: Mid-Willamette No. 7 or Southern No. 2 at Midwestern No. 1; Mid-Willamette No. 5 at Midwestern No. 2; Mid-Willamette No. 3 at Midwestern No. 3; Midwestern No. 4 at Mid-Willamette No. 2.

Final 16 seeded by OSAA using power rankings.

Class 4A Far West League (North Bend, Brookings-Harbor, Douglas, Siuslaw, South Umpqua, Sutherlin)

Play-in Round: Skyline No. 4 at Far West No. 1; Skyline No. 3 at Far West No. 2; Far West No. 3 at Skyline No. 2; Far West No. 4 at Skyline No. 1.

Final 16 seeded by OSAA.

Class 3A Sunset Hybrid (Bandon, Coquille, Glide, Myrtle Point)

Top two advance to final 16, seeded by OSAA.

Class 2A Sunset Hybrid (Gold Beach, Reedsport) and Southern Hybrid (Bonanza, Chiloquin and Lost River)

Top three advance to final 16 in football and top two in volleyball and basketball. Baseball and softball are part of Class 2A-1A special district.

Class 1A Skyline League (Pacific, Powers, Camas Valley, Elkton, Life Gate, New Hope Christian, Oak Hill and Umpqua Valley Christian)

Top three advance to final 24 in basketball and volleyball. Football is part of special district (Powers, Camas Valley, Elkton, Butte Falls, Gilchrist, North Lake, Paisley, Prospect, Triad).

Individual Sports

Cross Country

Class 5A, Class 4A and Class 3A-2A-1A: Top two teams and top five individuals, including members of those teams, advance to state from each district meet (previous plan included top four finishers not on the qualifying teams).

Wrestling

Class 5A: Top four wrestlers in each weight class from each of four regionals advance. Midwestern, Central Oregon and Southern Oregon hybrids form one regional.

Class 4A: Top four wrestlers in each weight class from each of four regionals advance. Far West League and Skyline League form one regional.

Class 3A: Top three wrestlers in each weight class from each of four special districts advance. Sunset and Southern Oregon hybrids and Creswell form one special district.

Swimming

Class 5A: Champion in each event from six leagues advances to state, plus fastest six non-champions.

Class 4A-3A-2A-1A: Champion in each event from four special districts advances to state, plus fastest eight non-champions.

Golf

Class 5A boys and girls, Class 4A boys, Class 3A-2A-1A boys and Class 4A-3A-2A-1A girls: Top two teams at each district meet advance to state and top five individuals, including members of those two teams.

Tennis

Class 5A and Class 4A-3A-2A-1A: Top four singles players and top four doubles teams from each district advance to state (no changes from current format).

Track & Field

Class 5A, Class 4A, Class 3A and Class 2A: Top two finishers in each event advance to state from each district, along with any competitors who reach the automatic qualifying standard, determined by the average third-place finish at state from the past four years (qualifying standard previously used average of fifth-place finish).

Note: The Sunset and Southern Oregon hybrids are combined to form one district in both Class 3A, while a similar special district will be used in Class 2A.
