The deadline to sign up for volleyball at the Boys & Girls Club of Southwestern Oregon is Wednesday, Oct. 18.

Teams have started to practice and the first games are on Saturday, Nov. 4.

The fee is $80 with a current club membership. Reduced fees are available for those who qualify.

Boys and girls in grades 3 through 6 are eligible to participate.

Tennis

The youth tennis program is under way at the William J. Sweet Memorial Tennis Center, part of the Boys & Girls Club.

The program is for boys and girls ages 5 to 18 and players of all skill levels are eligible to participate. A club membership is required. The instructor is Kylee Woodman, a North Bend High School graduate with 18 years of tennis experience.

Students ages 5 to 7 will have classes on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:45 to 4:30 p.m., with a fee of $75 for four weeks.

Students 8-10 will meet from 4:30 to 5:30 on Mondays and Wednesdays and those ages 11-14 from 5:30 to 6:30 on Mondays and Wednesdays. The fees for both of those age groups is $100 for four weeks.

Students ages 12 to 18 can join the team tennis program, which meets from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. The cost for that program is $180 per month.

Hoop Group

The basketball open gym for boys and girls in first through 12th grade meets on Sundays through Nov. 12, with the exception of Oct. 22.

The program meets from 5:30-7 p.m. in the Prosper Hall gym. SWOCC men’s basketball assistant Riley Grandinetti leads the program and players of all skill levels are eligible to participate.

The fee is $10 per night and players can sign up in advance at the Boys & Girls Club or sign up at the gym on Sunday nights.

Basketball

The basketball season at the Boys & Girls Club starts soon.
