Local swimmer Jayna Tomac is in Budapest, Hungary, for the Masters World Championships.

Tomac will swim four events, starting with the 800-meter freestyle on Monday, where she is seeded in the top 10.

The rest of the week, her focus will be her specialty, the breaststroke, competing at 50, 100 and 200 meters.

Tomac arrived in Budapest this week after a 30-hour trip.

After the world championships, she will travel with her parents to Slovenia.

She passed on a Facebook message back to the Bay Area after the 30-hour, sleepless trip.

“I’m excited,” Tomac wrote. “I appreciate everyone’s support.”
