COOS BAY — Coos Bay Speedway has canceled a planned fireworks show that was part of its featured night of racing Saturday, including a visit from the Ironman Non-Winged Sprint Tour.

In addition to the non-winged sprints, racing will include local drivers in the sportsman, late models, street stocks, mini outlaws, hornets and Humboldt Motorsports side by sides divisions.

The fireworks show was canceled because of the high fire danger.

Gates open at 4 p.m. and racing starts at 6:30. Admission is $15 for adults and $13 for senior citizens and students 7 to 17. A family pass for two adults and three kids is $45.

As a consolation for not having fireworks, the speedway is offering its all-beef hot dogs for $1 all night.

The speedway also is hosting a Mud Drags and Tuff Trucks racing day on Sunday.

The pits open at 10 a.m., with the grandstands opening at 1 p.m. and racing starting at 2. General admission is $10 for adults, $8 for senior citizens and children 7 to 17 and $25 for a family pass.

The entry fee is $35 for drivers and $20 to enter a second division. Powder puff drivers can compete for $20.
