The South Coast Running Club’s Run of Two Cities begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 10, at the Corner of Eighth and Wall streets above the Mingus Park softball field.
The event includes challenging 5-kilometer and 10-kilometer courses filled with hills. The longer race takes runners into downtown North Bend, hence the race name.
One of the oldest races of the South Coast Running Club, it follows one of the favorite training routes of Marshfield legend Steve Prefontaine.
The entry fee is $10 for South Coast Running Club members and $20 for others.
The event also is the final chance for members of the running club to sign up for this year’s South Coast Racing Series, which pays entry into popular runs including the Bullards Run, which was held in January, the Run of Two Cities, Jennifer’s Catching Slough Classic in June, the Sunset Bay Trail Run over Labor Day Weekend and Mac’s Run in December. The cost for the racing series is $30 and participants will receive a series shirt.
