The 2018 Coos Bay Speedway season opened last weekend with the first of several dates of mud drags.
Mud drags also are scheduled this weekend and next, with several other Sunday dates before a few more dates at the end of the speedway year.
Last weekend, winners included Cory Hawkins (4 Cylinder), Justina Kingery (6 Cylinder/Modified 4 Cylinder), Justin Hamilton (Stock V8), Dustin Pacini (Road and Trail), John Kendall (Modified), Tom Howell (Open), MacKenzie Ludwig (Powder Puff Class 1) and Wendy Lockwood (Powder Puff Class 2).
Both this Saturday and next (March 24 and 31), the pits open at noon, with the grandstands opening at 3 p.m. and racing starting at 4 p.m.
General admission is $10 for adults, $8 for senior citizens ages 7 to 17 and free for kids 6 and under. A family pass, good for two adults and up to three kids, $25.
Pit admission is $35 per driver ($20 for a second division), $20 for powder puff drivers, $20 for a regular pit pass and $10 for kids 12 and under.
After next weekend, future mud drag dates include four Sundays (May 6, June 3, July 29, Sept. 2) and three Saturdays to close the speedway season (Oct. 13, Oct. 20 and Oct. 27).
