The entry fee is $30 per golfer and includes a meal following the play.

Golfers are encouraged to sign up in advance. Printable registration forms for participants or sponsors are available at the event’s Facebook page, “Bill Humphreys Memorial Golf Scramble,” or at www.bravesboosters.com.

Pizza Ray's Seniors

The annual Pizza Ray’s Seniors tournament, one of the popular events on the South Coast, is Sept. 13 and 14 at Forest Hills and this year will include a women’s division for the first time.

The tournament is open to all men and women over 50 with a USGA handicap, with a maximum field of 60 golfers.

The entry fee is $75 and includes the two rounds of golf and an awards dinner at Bedrock’s in Winchester Bay following the second round. Play starts at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 13, and 9 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 14.

The men will be split into four divisions based on their ages. The women will all play in one division.

The entry deadline is Sept. 11.

Civil War Challenge

Forest Hills also will host a new tournament, the Civil War Challenge, on Saturday, Sept. 16.

The tournament will include 26 two-person teams — 13 representing the University of Oregon and 13 representing Oregon State University. They will be competing for the Forest Hills version of the Civil War trophy — the school flag of the winning team will fly at Forest Hills.

The entry fee is $80 per team and includes food after the golf. Only the first 13 teams supporting each side that sign up will be allowed to play.

The format will be 13 matches between supporters of each school, with nine holes played in a scramble format and nine in a chapman. The side that wins more matches will be the champion.
