The track champions for the 2017 oval dirt track season were decided last weekend at Coos Bay Speedway during the final regular night of racing.
The racers who had the most wins in their divisions were Brody Montgomery, who had 14 wins while taking the title in the Sportsman Late Models class; Ryan Siewell, who had 12 wins in the Hornets class; and Mile George, who had 10 wins in the Super Late Models division.
Other season champions were Lawrence VanHoof for Winged Sprints, Justin Krossman for Street Stocks, Sam Talon for Mini Outlaws, Eric Tackett for Humbolt Motorsports Side by Sides, and Ryan Baker for Modifieds.
There is one more night of racing on the oval track, the Lucas Oil Open Show on Oct. 7.
Meanwhile, the drag racing champions will be determined this weekend in the NHRA King of the Track competition, with races both Saturday and Sunday.
The gates open at 8 a.m. each day, with time trials starting at 11 and bracket racing at 1 p.m. Admission is $12 and the driver entry fee is $35.
