Bandon Crossings will celebrate its 10th anniversary with a party and golf tournament on Saturday, Sept. 16.
The anniversary bash comes complete with putting contests, golf ball art, a marshmallow long drive competition, fun golf activities, a continental breakfast and lunch.
The tournament will be played in a two-person best ball format and include three celebrity teams — Bandon Dunes course architect Dan Hixson and his significant other Amy; course superintendent Brant Hathorn and greens keeper and token Scotsman Alan Young; and head golf professional Jim Wakeman and “husband of the owner” Rex Smith.
The entry fee is $95 per person ($71 for annual pass holders at Bandon Crossings) and includes breakfast and lunch as well as cart and range balls. The shotgun start is set for 10 a.m.
Participants also can take part in a horserace on Friday, starting at 4 p.m.
The putting contest will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday and has a $3 entry fee, with the winner receiving 50 percent and the other 50 percent going to the Port Orford scholarship fund.
