REEDSPORT -- Eleven officers from the Reedsport Police Department arrested a Medford man Saturday on various charges, including first-degree burglary and strangulation.

Christopher Little, 29, was taken into custody on the above charges as well as menacing, negligent discharge of a firearm and 15 counts of reckless endangerment, specifically other residents of the Reedsport Mobile Park, 2810 Longwood Drive.

Reedsport Police Chief Duane Wisehart said "we responded of a domestic violence incident, upgraded to shots fired while we were en route."

In an email interview with the Umpqua Post, Wisehart wrote that Reedsport police along with Douglas County Sheriff's Department deputies were on scene.

Little was booked at the Douglas County Jail in Roseburg.

"I was not on the scene but it was handled by our senior officer, Matt Smart," Wisehart wrote. "Officers did a fantastic job and showed much restraint in handling this incident and getting it to come to a peaceful resolution. Our officer negotiated with the suspect for over an hour and eventually talked him into giving up. We were very fortunate to be able to have as many officers on scene as we did and are extremely grateful for the assistance provided by the Douglas County Sheriff."
