Deputies search for man in attempted abudction of girl
At about 7:30 p.m., the sheriff’s office received a report of a man who tried to lure the girl into his car near the intersection of Wallace Avenue and Beacon Street in Coos Bay. The girl ran away and the man drove off, a sheriff’s office press release said.

Anniversaries
Phil and Ann Keizer of North Bend celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in Sunriver. All 22 members of their immediate family joined them for a 10-day family reunion to help the couple celebrate their golden anniversary, along with Mary Jo Fourier, formerly of North Bend, who was the maid of honor at the couple’s wedding on June 22, 1958, at St. Monica Catholic Church in Coos Bay.
Bonnie and Oliver Morris, of Coquille, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, Aug. 23, at Bullards Beach State Park.
