So what’s the hold up?
Why has the Sixth Street detour in Eastside been in place for weeks with no workers in sight? After a good start on the project it has been lifeless while traffic pounds Ninth Street to disrepair. The detour for heavy trucks leaves only the windy East Bay Road or the single lane Ross Slough Road open. The state highway was designed for heavy traffic, city side streets or county roads are not. The residents of Eastside, Coos River, and Sumner are tired of driving the detour and seeing no progress. And this goes on until February? So what’s the hold up?
