This letter is a letter of support for the teachers of Lighthouse School. My name is Gayle Goldblatt, and I am a local psychotherapist with a private practice serving local Coos Bay families. I am a big fan of your school and the innovation, integrity, and adventurous, approach to education your institution promotes.
I believe teachers have one of the most important and difficult jobs an adult can have because they are a huge factor in how well our children succeed. The quality of our children's education will be a deciding factor in how well their futures turn out. The success of our country's future, in many respects, depends on how well prepared our children are educated.
Teachers have a daunting task of preparing our children to be able to compete and hold their own in our world. With these responsibilities, I believe teachers have earned being compensated a competitive wage. I also believe teachers have earned the right to legal protections such as binding arbitration so they may do their jobs without undo fears of not having appropriate legal job protections.
I appreciate what your school represents and the hard work and dedication of your teachers. Thank you so very much for your consideration in this matter.
