The world recently lost one of its most renown members of the Christian faith in the death of Dr. Billy Graham.
And though many of our local community have been influenced by the gospel message of Billy Graham's crusades, not only on TV but in person in our own city of Portland, we were also privileged to have had, in the 1970s through 1985, local showings of films produced by the film-arm of Bill Graham, World Wide Pictures. Through the outreach, vision, and sponsorship of this organization, our community's churches and organizations united to show locally such films as, "Time to Run", "For Pete Sake", "The Hiding Place", "The Prodical", and "Cry From the Mountain", under contract with the local theatre. Some 20,000 individuals from Brookings to Florence attended those showings.
As executive chairman and executive secretary for these local showings, we can attest to the sense of purpose, concern, and influence Billy Graham had in reaching our community and the world for Jesus Christ.
