The League of Women Voters of Coos County Board of Directors approved a resolution on Oct. 28 to support Coos Bay School District’s bond measure, Measure 6-166, for school building needs.
The action was based upon hearing facts of the measure at a League informational forum Oct. 24 and examining state and national League positions on education. The board determined that the measure meets the state league’s position for an equitable, quality public education for all children pre-K through grade 12, by providing for new and improved school buildings that will ensure children’s safety, meet technology needs, and improve learning environments. League positions are based upon grassroots member consensus following thorough study and discussion. Coos County League President Sue Thornton may be contacted for information, 541-297-8305.
