He was born Dec. 18, 1956 at McCauley Hospital in Coos Bay, the son of Manuel and Martha Redwine.
Stephen was stationed in Fort Lewis, Wash., from 1975 to 1978, Stephen served as a weapons specialist in the United States Army achieving the rank of E4 Corporal at the time of his honorable discharge.
After completing his military contract, he moved back to Coos Bay to take advantage of an opportunity to work with his father at the mill in Cape Arago, and continued to work in the pulp and paper industry for Menasha until the closing of their local mill. He thoroughly enjoyed his job and frequently spoke of the generosity and support he received from his co-workers.
