A celebration of life will be held for Robert “Bob” Floyd Catlett, 36, of Myrtle Point, at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 23, at Arago Community Church. Pastor Tom Morris will officiate. Viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, Jan. 22, at Myrtle Grove Funeral Service, 94105 Rink Creek Lane in Coquille. Cremation rites will be held at Myrtle Crest Crematory in Coquille.

Bob was born March 19, 1973, in Gold Beach. He died Jan. 18, 2010, in Coquille.

Bob graduated from Myrtle Point High School in 1991. He joined the U.S. Navy in July 1991 and was honorably discharged in February 2002.

In 1995, Bob married Sara Bair while stationed in Virginia. In 1996, they had their first son, Robert Jr., during their station in Nevada and then they were transferred to Texas. In early 2002, they returned to Portland, where their son, Zechariah, was born and they returned to the Myrtle Point area in December 2002.

Bob’s love for sports didn’t stop after high school. He has been the softball coach and a player for the ACS softball team since returning to Coos Bay. He played semi-pro football in the OFL for the Umpqua Valley Knights as well as actively involved personally with his children in the USA wrestling circuit for seven years. Bob, Sara and the boys enjoyed riding their quads and camping out in the Oregon Dunes.

Bob is survived by his wife, Sara Marie Catlett, 13-year-old son, Robert Floyd Catlett Jr. and 7-year-old son, Zechariah Cole Knight Catlett all of Myrtle Point; parents, Clara Jo and Don Peterson of Myrtle Point; brother, James D. Kelley, sister-in-law, Maryanne Kelley, niece Madeline Kelley and nephew, Toni Kelley all of Coos Bay; brother, Stephen C. Catlett and nephew, Jacob Catlett both of Port Orford; grandmother, Ruby Hislip of Coos Bay; grandfather, Frank Caudle of California; numerous cousins; and many other beloved family members.

He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Catlett; nephew, Joshua Catlett; step-grandfather, Floyd Hislip; and step-grandmother, Frances Caudle.
