At his request, no public services will be held for Donald Lee Brown Jr., 66, of Coos Bay. Private cremation rites were held at Ocean View Memory Gardens in Coos Bay.
Donald was born Oct. 31, 1946, in Cardin, Okla., to Donald Lee Brown Sr. and Glenna Ruth (Chark) Brown. He passed away peacefully June 23, 2013, at his home in Coos Bay.
Don was raised in the Melrose area and attended Melrose School. He attended Columbus High School, graduating in the Class of 1964. He was involved in 4-H, enjoyed farming, hunting and raising riding horses. After graduation he joined the U.S. Marines in 1964 and retired after 23 years as chief warrant officer.
Don married Nora Lee Quesnot in Carlsbad, Calif., May 1, 1976. They would share 37 years of marriage together.
Don had a big heart and was always ready to help his family. He loved his wife, family and his dog Slick.
Don is survived by his wife, Nora Lee Brown of Coos Bay; daughter, Paula Littlejohn of Chetopa, Kan.; stepson, Jim Low and his wife, Jan of Coos Bay; stepson, Rusty Low of Phoenix, Ariz.; sister, Janey Myers of Warr Acres, Okla.; sister, Sharye Rupert of Chetopa, Kan.; grandchildren, Jimmy, Jason, Justin, Carly, Nicole and Dylan; five nephews; and two nieces.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Ruth Brown.
