A memorial service gathering for Charles Wesley “Wes” Sprague, 75, of Coquille will be held for family and friends from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, at the Coquille Community Building, 114 N. Birch St. Private cremation rites will be at Ocean View Memory Gardens Crematory in Coos Bay.

Wes was born July 17, 1937, in Oregon City, the son of Ted and Ruth Sprague. He died Jan. 28, 2013, in Coquille.

He was a graduate of Bandon High School and a United States Navy veteran. Wes was a log truck driver owner. He loved old classic cars and stock car racing.

Wes is survived by his companion and soulmate, Sheila Smith of Coquille; children, Robert Sprague and wife, Gail of Lakeside, Michelle Duval and husband, Dennis of Coquille, Ruth Dodge and husband, Duane of Roseburg and Lydia Sprague of Roseburg; siblings, Bee Morgan and husband, Elton of Powers, Jaunice Sabin and husband, Larry of Bandon and Katie Stephens and husband, Earl of Woodland, Calif.; beloved aunt, Dorothy of Portland; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren with twins on the way.

We will all dearly miss our dad and friend…love you dad.

Arrangements are under the direction of Coos Bay Chapel, 541-267-3131.
