Oct. 20, 1928 - July 4, 2012

A family memorial service will be held for Audrey F. Francis, 83, of North Bend. Cremation rites have been held under the direction of Nelson's Bay Area Mortuary.

Audrey was born Oct. 20, 1928, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, the daughter of Frank A. and Genevieve (Fowler) Roberts. She passed away July 4, 2012, at her North Bend home surrounded by her family.

She was raised and educated in British Columbia. Audrey was married to Gene Francis on June 20, 1953 in South Burnaby, B.C., and they had made their home in North Bend since 1957. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and a wonderful homemaker.

Audrey enjoyed weaving pine needle baskets, playing cards with her family where she had the nickname 'Card Shark," but most of all she loved spending time with her family. She was a longtime member of the Moose Lodge Auxillary, and she enjoyed snow birding in Arizona, getting together with friends and family at the Venture Inn, and her friend and physician, Dr. Bach and the staff at Bay Clinic. She was much loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Audrey is survived by her sons, Robert Rhodes of Washington, Michael Rhodes of Washington, Mark and Charlotte Francis of Redland, Jeffrey and Sandie Francis of Dallas, and Glenn and Candy Francis of Salem; daughters, Marcia Francis of Clackamas, Jenny and Kip Gumm of North Bend and Kathy and Joe Sicheneder of Coos Bay; 20 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Florence and June.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene; a brother, Edward; and two sisters, Evelyn and Marcia.

Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson's Bay Area Mortuary, 541-267-4216.
