COOS COUNTY — Three women and one man got into a dispute Aug. 10, which ended with a 911 call.

At 11:05 p.m., Coos County Sheriff's deputies responded to a residence on Bay Park Lane to assist Coos Bay Fire and Bay Cities Ambulance to find several intoxicated people.

According to a press release from the Sheriff's Department, deputies attempted to separate individuals and interview them about the incident, while also allowing medical personnel to tend to the person in need of medical attention.

“Deputies were interviewing one of the females when another female, Kayla Myers, began punching and attacking the male on scene,” the release stated.

The deputies tried to subdue Myers, but she resisted their efforts. Deputies were forced to take physical control of her and place her in custody, during which Myers continued to kick and punch at the deputy while he put her in handcuffs.

As the deputy arrested Myers, Tiffany Watte tried to stop him by grabbing his arm multiple times. She told the deputy she would just take Myers home.

“After the deputy had secured Myers, Watte was arrested for interfering with a police officer and disorderly conduct II,” the release stated.

Both Myers, 24, of Coos Bay, and Watte, 33, of Coos Bay, were taken to the Coos County Jail without further incident. Myers was booked on charges of assault public safety officer, DOC II and interfering with police. Watte was booked on charges of interfering with police and DOC II.
