COQUILLE — The North Bend woman convicted last Thursday of attempting to stab a police officer was sentenced to 24 months for the conviction.

Danielle Welsh, 30, also was sentenced to 64 days on an attempted assault on a public safety officer conviction and 30 days on a criminal trespass conviction. Both of those sentences will run concurrent to each other, but consecutive to her attempted assault conviction.

Welsh was convicted of attempting to stab North Bend police officer Patrick Kinney with a small blade during a struggle in a yard on Meade Street in North Bend in September.

Kinney was able to wrestle the knife away from Welsh, who witnesses said was yelling, “I will kill you. I will cut your head off.”

Welsh also will be on 36 months post-prision supervision in relation to her attempted assault conviction.
