COOS COUNTY — A 79-year-old predatory sex offender was arrested in Powers after absconding from the Oregon State Parole Board in 2011.
Robert Joyner was found living in a camp trailer on a property that had children in the residence.
According to a Coos County Sheriff’s Office release, deputies didn’t believe the family knew about Joyner’s criminal history.
He was originally convicted of sodomy in the first degree in Clackamas County. He has been wanted since 2011 when he absconded from supervision.
Joyner also had a traffic warrant out of Junction City and a DUII and Reckless Driving warrant from Crook County.
Joyner was transported to the Coos County Jail pending a transfer to the Clackamas County Jail.
