COOS COUNTY — A woman was arrested and a man cited by Coos County Sheriff's deputies Saturday, Dec. 1, on a charge of prostitution, according to a sheriff's office press release.
About 4 p.m., the Coos County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a suspicious vehicle in the camping area at Riley Ranch County Park.
Upon locating the vehicle, an investigation, was conducted as to who the owner was and where the person had gone because the location where the vehicle parked and the circumstances around it were suspicious. It was later discovered that a female had parked the vehicle and had left with a male in an SUV.
A check of the park was conducted and the vehicle was located in the day use area at Riley Ranch County Park. There was a male, identified as Nathan Stadelman, 30, of Bandon, and a female identified as Sonya Hoort, 31, inside of the vehicle.
The investigation revealed that an alleged agreement had been made between Stadelman and Hoort to engage in a sex act together in exchange for a sum of money to be exchanged from Stadelman to Hoort.
Consequently Stadelman was cited and released for patronizing a prostitute (Commercial Sexual Solicitation), a misdemeanor. Stadelman was not photographed because he was not taken to the Coos County Jail, according to the release. Hoort was arrested and transported to the Coos County Jail on a charge of prostitution, also a misdemeanor. Hoort was later released from the Coos County Jail on a citation to appear.
