LAKESIDE — An argument over a trip to the beach landed a Baker City woman in jail after she was arrested Saturday on a felony domestic assault charge that occurred at a Lakeside market.

According to a Coos County Sheriff's Office press release, Jensen Chantel, 25, was arrested about 1 p.m. on the assault charge after deputies were dispatched to a report of an assault at Tree Acre’s Market in Lakeside. Joshua Longden called 911 to report his girlfriend, Jensen Chantel, had punched him in the head. Joshua also told deputies that after he got out of the car Jensen kicked him in the groin. Joshua stated his minor son was also present during the assault and witnessed it, the press release said.

Deputies spoke with Chantel, who admitted to punching Longden because she was upset he did not drive her to the beach. Jensen also admitted to kicking Joshua in the groin, although she stated it was by accident. Jensen stated she was only trying to kick the phone out of his hands when he said he was calling the police.

Chantel was arrested and transported to the Coos County Jail, where she was booked and lodged on $25,000 bail. Deputies were assisted in the investigation by the Reedsport Police Department and Oregon State Police.
