COOS BAY — A Coos Bay man was arrested Thursday night on suspicion of auto theft, various drug charges and possession of a false identification card, according to a Coos County Sheriff's Office press release.
About 11:45 p.m., Coos County deputies observed a suspected stolen vehicle northbound on 4th Street in Coos Bay driven by Michael R. Wright, 57, of Coos Bay. The deputies initiated a high-risk traffic stop on the vehicle and were able to take the driver into custody without incident for the unauthorized use of a vehicle.
While conducting the arrest a pat down search of Wright’s person, the deputy located suspected heroin and a fake identification card. Wright was taken into custody and was transported to the County Jail where he was booked and lodged. In an inventory search of Wright in booking two more baggies with suspected meth and heroin were located on Wright. Wright faces charges of possession of a stolen vehicle, unauthorized use of a vehicle, possession of methamphetamine, possession of heroin, and the manufacturing of a false identification.
The suspected narcotics will be submitted to the Oregon State Police for testing.
